James Wadley, the editor is chief of JBSR shares his journey through creating this journal. He has engaged with sexuality research, how masculinity is constructed among black men, roles of non custodial parents, sexuality among people of colour and various other related fields.
The Journal of Black Sexuality and Relationships is especially relevant since the social justice movement. There is support and discourse around how people of colour are treated in our society. The journal addresses sensitive issues about people of colour , sex trafficking, HIV/ Aids prevention, etc. It also served as the foundation to start The association of black sexologists and clinicians.
