June, The Pride Month:

Pride means, "the consciousness of one's own dignity" and "a product of praise, independent, self-reflection and a fulfilled feeling of belonging". The gay rights movement got triggered in the USA and spread to other parts of the world as a result of the raid in a gay club in New York City on the 28th of June, 1969 which gave rise to a violent riot.

The LGBTQ+ Pride month is conducted in the month of June to immortalize the sacrifice of all the people who fought for the rights of the LGBTQ+ community. the celebration lasts throughout the month of June which includes Pride Parade, concerts and workshops. this month is dedicated show love and support to one another. in the words of Irina Bokova, the former director-general of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization, “Human rights are universal, indivisible, and interdependent. They are not reserved for the few—they apply to everyone, everywhere. It is essential to reaffirm this fundamental principle and join forces to make it a reality.”

Adult Sex Education Month:

June is considered to be the adult sex education month as well. we have 9th to 15th June as the cervical screening awareness week and 27th June as the national HIV testing day. sexual health should be considered as an important factor for any individual and education regarding the same is important as well. About 50% of the pregnancies in the USA are unplanned and at least every 1 in 2 people has STI by the age of 25. hence it is important for everybody irrespective of the gender of your partner, protection and proper knowledge are very important before you dive in.
