Episode 4 - RC: "You did that for the D?!"

RC uses both he/his and they/them pronouns and considers himself a non-binary, trans-masculine-of-center person who is comfortable being neither male nor female. But, as with all our FRUITBOWL interviewees, it’s best to just put labels and pronouns aside and, if you just listen, you’ll find yourself identifying with some if not all of RC’s story.

RC was born in the Philippines but, as an Army brat, they grew up in San Diego, Hawaii, Seattle and Guam. High school wasn’t easy as one of the only out people in their high school in Guam, but RC has had his share of challenges as an adult too including one very awkward hook up with a newbie queer woman and a canopy bed.

RC’s interview was conducted in July of 2019 in the Bay Area where they live with their partner. By the way, that’s the BART train that you hear in the background along with RC’s very affectionate Pit Bull, Emmy Lou.
