Can Taoist Sexual Practice work for me?

Sex is natural. We all generally know what to do to perform the act. The lead up to the act can definitely make sex much more pleasurable and knowing some ancient tips couldn’t hurt!

Whoever you are - man, woman, straight, gay, queer - you can become a far more effective lover. As with cooking a meal, preparation is the key. Learning about pressure points and energy channels can prolong peak moments beyond bliss into ecstasy.

Read and reflect on these words from the book 'Taoist Foreplay', by Mantak Chia and Kris Deva North,

Your body is a landscape
Of hills and valleys,
Woodland glades,
Caves of delight
Pastures of pleasure,
Stirred by breezes of bliss,
Fed by rivers of desire,
Watered by clouds and rain of ecstasy.
Nature has gifted us
With eyes to see these wonders,
Ears to hear the sounds of love,
Noses to smell the fragrance of passion,
Tongues to taste the fruits of desire,
Lips to kiss,
And hands to touch.

Taoist Foreplay, by Mantak Chia and Kris Deva North

Does this pique your interest? It definitely gets me going.

There are many practices and books written on the topic of taoist sexuality. There are exercises for people with vulvas, and other exercises for people with penises. It is desirable to perform practices on your own as well as with a partner to achieve maximum benefit. I will not even attempt to cover more than a small part of this topic, but will mention a couple of things you could try and of course, if you want to progress, seek further guidance.

The Governor channel or meridian runs down the back of the head and the spine. Running your hands down your lover’s back can stimulate this channel and move the chi or energy. Intuitively you may notice that the point between the shoulder blades, behind the heart is especially potent. Also, the point on the spine in the small of the back. These two points, GV3 and GV11 are wonderful places to rest your two hands as your partner lies face down. This connects the fire energy of the heart centre with the water energy of the kidney center.

If you are on your own there are also things you can practice to create healthy erotic energy flow. For women the Jade Egg practice is an ancient method of using a small stone egg shaped object, inserted in the vagina, to strengthen and tone the muscles and fascia. For men, there is a special massage routine of the scrotum and penis that promotes healthy organs.

These types of practices are simple to learn and incorporate into your daily routine. The basics of massage, touch, pressure points, connection and flow are something I can incorporate into my work with clients.

I have personally practiced with the Jade Egg for a few years now and highly recommend it!

If you are interested to find out more about Taoist erotic practice and improving your Sex life in general, either on your own or with partner/s, book a breakthrough call with me and let’s discuss your next steps.
